A: We provide most service parts for older grinders. The part number listed in your manual has probably been converted to a newer style number. Your dealer or Customer Service will be able to assist in changing these over.

A: This may happen over time as parts wear on your machine. The pieces of the dust collector are connected with rubber bands. These may wear over time and need to be replaced. If you are using abrasive material, it may eat away at the caulk used to seal the dust collector. Maintaining a good seal is vital in the efficiency of your machine. Replace and fill as necessary.
A: Alignment is key in proper operation of your grinder mixer. If something is out of alignment, it could cause vibration in your unit. First, narrow down the machine area where the vibration is occurring (tank, mill, discharge, etc.) Once you have narrowed down the area, check the key alignment components such as bearings, augers, sprockets/chain, rotors, or shafts. Also check fasteners to proper torque.
A: There is a service access lid on top of the tank. The auger is attached to a bearing on top and gearbox on the bottom. Once disconnected from both ends, you will need to maneuver the auger out of the tube and through the access lid.
A: First, check the PTO and hydraulics are operating correctly. Depending on your grinder mixer model, check for proper gear or gearbox operation on the bottom of your grinder operating your mixing auger. Check for proper connection between auger and drive (is the auger turning?) Is there left over material in your tank? It could have hardened and has frozen the mixing auger. The material will need to be loosened prior to operation.
A: Disconnect all power/hydraulics/PTOs from Grinder/Mixer.
Remove shields/covers that are on the top of the hammer mill. Loosen and disconnect front drive belts. Remove air system from the fan housing and disassemble the fan housing. Bearing mount hardware will need to be removed. Use a lift/crane/hoist to help aid in lifting hammer mill rotor from the hammer mill housing. Inspect bearings for damage or wear for possible replacement if needed. Follow steps in reverse for rotor installation, making sure to re-caulk any air system joints. Make sure belt alignment is correct when installing belts.
A: Yes, It would require all new components that mount to the jackshaft (shaft along side the mill), along with new main belts/tensioner and new chains for main drive and pump, if applicable. A new PTO would be required to fit the appropriate output shaft from tractor.

A: Art’s Way acquired the Miller Pro Rakes, Forage boxes, High dump and Forage blower. We didn’t get the the sprayer, liquid spreader, barn cleaner, silo unloader and some older Miller Pro products.
A: Art’s Way only carries some parts for the M & W baler.
A: We have discontinued servicing the UFT grain drill line. Parts are no longer available for this line of equipment. Some older lines of equipment we have limited parts availability.
A: Art’s Way built an auger similar to the Feterl brand. We do have a chart that crosses over some of the parts and can be used on their brand. However, be cautious about retro fitting a different brand to ensure proper function of your equipment.
A: As a manufacturer, we do not send prints to customers. We can assist with verifying dimensions of parts to ensure you get the proper replacements.

Manure Spreader
A: Our X700 has an 18 foot long box with a heaped capacity of 683 cubic feet and a struck capacity of 473 cubic feet and our X900 has 20 foot long box with a heaped capacity of 909 Cubic ft and struck capacity of 625 cubic feet.
A: The X700 has a load height of 89 inches with flotation tires or 92 inches with standard military tires. The X900 has a load height of 91 inches with flotation tires or 94 inches with standard military tires.
A: Unbolt the wheel from the hub and replace with desired wheel style. Our flotation tire option offers a special offset rim that allows it to be interchangeable without the need for different hubs or spindles.
A: We offer manure spreader specific Digistar GT400 and NT560 scale options. The GT400 is an economy indicator that provides basic scale functionality. The NT560 is an advanced indicator that provides features such as auto recording, GPS, record documentations with nutrient tracking and a live pounds/ tons per acer display. Both scale kits use the same load cells allowing for an easy optional upgrade.
A: No more than 1 inch of droop between the chain guides. Somewhere between ½ inch to 1 inch would be ideal. It is recommended to check chain tensioning once every 10 loads or after a day’s use. Refer to your manual for illustrations.
A: Bearings, tires, apron chain slats, rubber flaps, beater knifes and teeth, flooring and slop gate material.
A: Remove the 4 bolts on either side of the beaters then disconnect the telescoping quick connecting PTO from the beater gear box. Use rated lifting equipment to lift beaters up and away from the machine.
A: Yes, we offer hardened beater teeth and knifes which are made from high grade ½ inch thick steel with formed teeth including a hardened weld bead and symmetrical reversible knifes. We also supply all additional necessary hardware.
A: We offer a standard used 16.00/R-20 Military tired and a optional 600/50R- 22.5 flotation tire which allows for decreased soil compaction and a 3 inch decrease in loading height.
A: We use a heavy duty 88C Pintal Chain with an ultimate average tensile strength of 38,000 pounds per stand of chain for a total of 152,000 pounds of moving strength per manure spreader. Driven by dual Berma 350 gear boxes and motors on both our X700 and our X900 Spreader.
A: We offer 1-3/8 x 21 Spline PTO with overrun, clutch, 1-3/4 x 20 Spline PTO with overrun, 1-3/8 x 21 Spline C-V PTO with Clutch Pack or 1- ¾ x 20 Spline C-V PTO with Clutch Pack. C-V allows you to maintain optimal power during turns.
A: Our standard color of manure spreader is green. However, for an upgrade we offer additional color options.
A: We use Berma Vertical SRT8 and SRT18 beaters on our X700 and our X900 manure spreader respectively.
TOP-SPREAD
A: The TOP-SPREAD tips forward from your cab. The tines are angled so you do not need to tip all the way over to be level with the ground. Use the site holes in the floor of the TOP-SPREAD to guide the machine toward the bale. You do not want the tines to dig in the ground or to stab the bale. Slide them under the bale and move forward until the bale is all the way in against the floor. In order to put less stress on the machine, roll the machine back towards you on the feet. You want the bale closest to the side of the operator for balance. If it is against the tine side, the material may catch on the hood. You want the flat side of a round bale to be facing the operator. You may remove the wrap once loaded or leave it on the bale for processing.
A: The electrical plug comes standard as the power in spot A, forward in C, and reverse in G. This matches up to our wiring harness option. The operator’s manual provides a list of general guidelines for other brands. Be sure to check the pins on your machine with an electrical tester first as each model may differ or may have been changed after the sale.
A: We do not offer a 7 pin adapter. However, skidsteergenius.com offers an SBX2000 7 Pin Adapter that many folks use. Be sure to choose the correct one for two directions as well as the added suppressor options. This prevents back current to your skid steer. This does require you to remove the 14 pin that comes standard and install the 7 pin pigtail. Be sure to follow skid steer genius directions. Failure to install correctly could lead to burn out of your Bobcat device.
A: Feeding your material requires the operator to practice. Every bale is baled differently and feeds differently. You want to start your rotors with your bale away from them. Once your rotors have reached full speed, slowly bump the floor chain forward. This will start to feed the bale. If you overload the rotors, you will start to hear the knives clanging and then you will reverse the chain. Bumping back and forth is the best way to feed the bale. You may adjust how fast the apron moves at a time by turning the silver knob on the manifold on the machine.
A: As most nutritionists and botanists will tell you, feeding good quality dry material is best for animal health or seed coverage. This also prevents clumping of material during spreading. However, we know using ideal bales is rare! Slowing down your apron speed and operator practice are the two things that have the most impact of smooth spreading. We encourage you to try the machine empty and then with a dry light bale like cornstalks for practicing. Once comfortable, then try grass, etc.
A: There are four greaseable bearings on the rotors, 2 greaseable bushings on the discharge end of the apron. Two drive chains operate the rotors. Be sure to check this tension and sprocket alignment frequently according to your manual. Check the sharpness of your knives, sharpen or replace as needed.
A: We recommend you leave your discharge door open and install your own chute after sale. These may be custom fit depending on your feeding situation. If you want to cover all three sides or just the end and how long it should be.
A: All brands and models differ. For the most part, you either roll your hydraulics to the left or up on your right hand joystick. Then you lock in the hydraulics with the trigger under the right hand joystick. If you have wired to match your skid steer, most buttons are also found on your right hand joystick. The top of the left hand button will be forward and the bottom or right hand button will be reverse. You may wire your plug to match any buttons you wish.
A: Apron chain operation is controlled electronically. This typically means you may have cut your wire. A quick way to diagnose this is to switch the two connections on the manifold and see if the operation direction changes.
High Dump Carts
A: The BT and BFT versions of the 9016 are both capable of lifting and dumping 40,000lbs
A: We recommend a tractor capable of at least 2500 psi, which is easily achieved with nearly all modern tractors.
A: To convert a BT or BFT to dump the opposite direction takes less than 1 hour. The tongue and rear bumper trade places, and the axles are moved to provide the desired tongue weight. The centrally designed hydraulic system requires only that the hoses to the tractor be re-routed to the other end of the machine. No hydraulic fittings need to be loosened; no oil should hit the shop floor.
A: We have customers who have owned their 9016-BT dump carts for 5 years, using them on multiple crops, who have never had to re-phase the hydraulic system. Our unique hydraulic cylinder design virtually eliminates one of the largest problems dump carts have traditionally faced. Our cylinders stay in sync and do not require complicated cable systems or constant re-phasing cycles.
A: We suggest putting at least 1000lbs of material in each of the two weight boxes, sand and crushed concrete are the most popular materials, but scrap iron has been used as well. For the 9016-BT model it is recommended that an additional 30 gallons of calcium chloride be added to the tires opposite the dump side. All tires for the 9016-BT and 9016-BFT come with tubes installed to avoid the damage calcium chloride can cause.
